While the benches might have had brighter colors, all had peeling paint on both the wood seats and backs, as well as the metal frames that they sat on.

Some volunteers are shown scraping and painting, during some of the hotter days of July. Trees provided some shade but not all benches are under the trees.

Most of the benches received more than one coat of paint on some parts, but they look so much better than the peeling and multi-colors that they were.
